about projekt-il

projekt-il is a joint working platform of theatre professionals and artists in Düsseldorf. projekt-il was founded in 2013 by Alexander Steindorf and Bianca Künzel, who both work as actors and directors. projekt-il pursues the goal of combining visual and performing skills within theatre projects and developing them beyond the claim of a self-reflecting and reproducing perception in everyday and socially relevant concepts. projekt-il intervenes in possible stage spaces with cross-generational and cross-cultural ideas. An important role is played by the linking of professional theatre art with participatory involvement of citizens and artists that extends into everyday urban life. This results in theatre and art projects that merge public space with traditional stage spaces and create direct transitions between art and everyday life. Since 2013, projekt-il has realised productions for the FFT Düsseldorf, the Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus, the Nationaltheater Weimar and the asphalt Summer Festival of the Arts.
